Saurophaganax maximus, thumb claw with restored sheath
Late Jurassic, western North America

A huge dinosaur claw! Saurophaganax was the biggest predatory dinosaur of the Jurassic world, approaching T. rex in size. However, Saurophaganax  is a rare dinosaur, known only from one quarry in Oklahoma. Its forearms were large and powerful and ended in a sharp, recurved claw. This replica thumb claw is the biggest one of the hand and has the horny sheath of the claw restored. Sheath not removable. See product 140 for this claw without the sheath.

This fossil cast comes with an informative card.
