Allosaurus fragilis, pathological and normal fourth toe set
Late Jurassic, western North America.

A dramatic dinosaur bone pathology. Life as a predatory dinosaur was rough and tumble. Battling for prey, carcasses, mates, and territory could easily result in an injury. The bone overgrowth in this replica specimen is not as massive as in no. 105, but the joint surface for the rest of the toe is completely destroyed and there are large, deep pits for draining pus.  A normal fourth toe bone is included for comparison.

This fossil cast comes with an informative card.

Size: Normal and pathological: 3" long
